General Description:
The Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) reports to Director of Operations. Certified Physician Assistant- Gastroenterology. PA-C works collaboratively and under the supervision of Physician care partners in the provision of medical care. This includes care primarily within the medical office setting, PA-C may be asked to assist occasionally with hospital rounding responsibilities as needed. Key Responsibilities include physical exams, ordering and interpretation of diagnostics, patient education, treatment plan development and coordination of care. Strong communication, collaborative work ethics, good time management, as well as timely/thorough documentation practices are among core characteristics needed to be successful in this role.

- Initial evaluation of new patients.
- Provides follow up care to established patients independently and in conjunction with physician
- Serves as a clinical resource to nursing and other staff.
- Provides patient education.
- Rounds on inpatients. Assists physicians with initial consultations and subsequent care as needed.
- Responds to inquiries from patients, family members and care partners
- Orders diagnostic studies as appropriate and following up on results
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
- Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Master’s as Physician Assistant required
Work Experience:
- 1 or more years of experience preferred. Will consider new graduates.
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
- Florida Licensure as a Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) required .
- BLS/ACLS
